On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Garden of Heroes in Messolonghi, the musical hymn “Exodus – The Road to Immortality” was presented for the first time, as one of the most significant events marking the 200th anniversary of the Exodus of Messolonghi.
The work was created by Andreas Katsigiannis and Lina Dimopoulou, born from an idea of Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aitolia and Akarnania, in collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Aitolia and Akarnania. The performance was directed by Mimi Denisi.
Alkistis Protopsalti performed, among others, the song “Fengari Olochryso” (Golden Moon), inspired by the magic of the Messolonghi moon reflected on the waters of the lagoon. She was joined by Giannis Dionysiou and the choir of the Municipality of Messolonghi, conducted by Spyros Cholevas and Christos Zisis.
The work is also released on CD.
