Alkistis Protopsalti and Stefanos Korkolis uniquely took the audience on a journey "With the Wings of Poetry," presenting their eponymous double live album at "Ianos," released by Panik Oxygen.
During the special evening, Alkistis Protopsalti and Stefanos Korkolis discussed the creation of the rare live album recorded at the small theater of Ancient Epidaurus in 2012. The unforgettable piano-voice recital of the two artists features poems by Odysseas Elytis, set to music by Mikis Theodorakis, Ilias Andriopoulos, Stefanos Korkolis, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Dimitris Layiou, and Michalis Tranudakis.
"Amidst the crushing realities of our time, with unbearable images and emotions, our souls soften and our hearts make room for music and poetry. The Aegean Odysseas Elytis will always create a magical landscape and enrich our imagination," began the singer, while the distinguished pianist added, "We poured our souls effortlessly into the masterpiece known as Odysseas Elytis. These songs will sail with open sails in our expression."
With the unique pianist and the wonderful singer, we listened to some songs from the album "With the Wings of Poetry," such as "The Shell," "Beautiful and Strange Homeland," "The Little North Wind," "Love of the Archipelago," and "The Crazy Ship."
The presentation was introduced by Nikos Thrasyvoulos, and besides the two artists, Tonya Dragouni also spoke about the album, whose photographs that evoke Greece adorn the album booklet.
Among those present at the event were the CEO of Panik Records, Giorgos Arsenakos, along with the company's team, as well as artists Marios Frangoulis, Michalis Chatzigiannis, Sofia Manousaki, and Giorgos Perris.
After the presentation, Alkistis Protopsalti and Stefanos Korkolis signed albums, chatted, and took photos with the audience.
