Alikistis Protopsalti means more than 40 years in the Greek discography with 28 personal albums ,all of them golden or platinum.
She is one of the most important Greek singers , she has a strong Dorian recognizable voice, she is very creative ,emotional and expressive !

She first appeared on the Greek music scene in 1975, and from that period until now she has collaborated with the most important Greek composers such as Mikis Theodorakis , Dimos Moutsis , Elias Andriopoulos, , Stamatis Kraounakis, Nikos Antypas, Stefanos Korkolis, Giannis Spanos, Stamatis Spanoudakis , Stavros Xarchakos and lately with Evanthia Reboutsika. Also she cooperated with the world famous composer Goran Bregovic.

She has performed at the best ancient theatres of Greece , but also she had spectacular performances in famous theaters around the world : USA, Canada, Australia, Great Britain , France, Swiss, Netherlands, Egypt, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Turkey , Portugal, Cyprus, Israel, Romania, Russia, Sweden ,Cyprus and the faraway China and Cuba!

Her concerts at the esteemed theater of the Metropolitan Museum and the famous Radio City both in New York, as well as at the Opera of Avana in Cuba, at the theater of The Forbidden Town in Beijng , and at the Opera House of Kremlin in Moscow , at the Library of Alexandria are just some of the highlights that will remain unforgettable.

She has performed with famous Orchestras among which is the Symphonic Orchestra of Prague, the Boston Pops , the Oxfrord Philarmonic , the Kremlin Presidential Symphonic Orchestra , the Turkish Tekfen Sumphony Orchestra for 60th anniversary.

Her performances are unique, and her stage presence unforgettable.

Alkistis featured at Gipsy Kings group’s album “Turquoise dream” singing the latin songs “Da mela” and “Ya habibi”.
She also featured at the Italian film “Il colore dell Odio” singing the main theme of the film, and the Greek translation of two Disney films : “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” where we listen her voice at the role of Esmaralda , and the film “Tangled” (Rapounzel) where she had the very difficult demanding role of Gothel.

Alkistis Protopsalti proudly run the Olympic flame in the 2004 Athens Olympic torch relay and gave a festive mood at the closing ceremony of the Games. Furthermore, she appeared at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Special Olympics at 2010 singing together with the famous talented Italian tenor Vittorrio Grigolo.

The exceptional famous Greek singer has officially represented her country worldwide several times during her carrier in major events such as the EU Summit at the Main Conference of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs , the EXPO fairs in Portugal, in Spain and in Germany.
She had the opportunity to spread the Greek music in Cuba , invited by the Greek Embassy, and also in China for the celebration of the 35 years friendship between the two countries.

In all her international appearances Alkistis has always given her best effort to communicate the Greek spirit and culture in her special way.

We can find Alkistis singing in several other languages , other than her native Greek , such as English, Spanish, French, Italian, Corsican and Chinese , receiving flattering reviews from the international press for her “unforgettable” appearances.

She is the only woman Ambassador of Marathon in the world.

In August 2015 Alkistis Protopsalti /Attikiouzel became a Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Greek government , a very different but honorable title in her career.
